Image City Sound Chorus has been a charter member of Swee Adeline's Internationational since January 1996. During that time, we have had the good fortune to work with some wonderful musical directors that have guided us on our journey to becoming better singers and performers. Each of them brought their unique talents and dedication to the job. We are currently in search for a director, as Rhonda Spolestra, our last director, has decided to dedicate her energies to her burgeoning business. In the interim, we continue to work together as a chorus to hone our signing and performance skills. We are a dedicated group of women that love to have fun and harmonize together.
The original group of nine women formed a chorus that
would strive for musical excellence, with the community involvement and
camaraderie that a small to medium size chorus would allow. The group
thrived under Maggie’s direction, and in the first five years she guided
the chorus to five Regional Small Chorus, Division A championships which
included a 5th place overall medal. Membership grew under her direction
and the chorus performed both locally and internationally, including a
trip to Ireland. Maggie continued as director until her retirement in 2012.
, another experienced Barbershop director took over in
2013, building upon the strong foundation that Maggie established. She
came to us with a wealth of musical and technical knowledge, incredible
enthusiasm, and energy. A barbershop participant since age 19, Kathy
sang lead in two Region 16 championship quartets: Viva
and Touch of
. Kathy previously directed the Seneca Soundwaves Chorus
Adelines International for 14 years and led them to two Most Improved
Chorus Awards in 2000 and 2004, as well as a 3rd Place Small Chorus
award in 2005. Kathy continued as director until 2016, when she left to
embark on a second career as a music educator for grades K -5.
has spent her lifetime making music, as a vocalist,
guitarist, and director of several varied groups/bands of all ages. As
an assistant director of Region 15’s chorus, Spirit of Syracuse
with small groups and individuals was her specialty. She had an uncanny
ability to empower singers to believe in themselves, improve their
skills and perform better than ever. She was a six-time Regional Medalist
and a 2018 Quartet Champion and International Representative
with SoundByte Quartet.
